I’m still shaking from the fact that I got to meet James Cordon!!! He is by far my favourite comedian and probably my favourite celebrity. He is absolutely hilarious and he did not let me down with his hosting and auctioning skills at the Discovery Ball this past weekend. The event Field Museum in Chicago and they raised $6 million in support of the American Cancer Society which was unbelievable. We got to hear from a cancer survivors who’s story was truly incredible. It was a wonderful event for a great cause and I would love to take some time away from the fashion on my blog for this post and for you to all donate to the American Cancer Society here.
Last week was very special since it was my mom’s birthday!! We had a cute little brunch at our house and obviously had to go all out for dessert with this Studio 54 themed cake. Not only did it look beautiful but this red velvet and coconut cake tasted just as good. My favorite dish (besides the cake) was the gravlax on a sweet potato pancake with lemon mustard crème fraiche. Here is a similar recipe that I found online for you to try at home.
Hi! Welcome to the Blair Necessities. I recently graduated from the University of Southern California in sunny Los Angeles. Growing up in Toronto and Florida it was a big change for me to move out to the west coast and I am eternally grateful that I did. The city has so much to offer and as I move on to the next chapter of my life I find myself wanting to make sure that LA will always be a part of it. Perfect weather, best restaurants and great people, what more is there to ask for. With some free time after I graduated I decided to start The Blair Necessities as a way to display my unique fashion style that has evolved from the many places I have been able to experience. The Blair Necessities will include all things from fashion, food and travel. Hope you enjoy!
